Soyka, restaurant bar & lounge, opened its doors to a doubting public in May of 1999. Mark Soyka originally purchased the building to house his vintage car collection, never dreaming of opening yet another restaurant or cafe. But before all of the cars could find their way to new homes, Mark decided to open his namesake restaurant. With nothing in the area that catered to the locals and the VIP of the business and government community downtown, Soyka was packed the day it opened its doors and remains so today, with the most unique, casual ambiance and comfort dining in all of Miami, that bring local patrons back to dine several times a week....truly making it their dining room away from home. Soyka is the anchor of a mixed, commercial center, a four block stretch just west of Biscayne Boulevard, 55th Street Station, whose name was inspired by the then rusting railroad tracks to the west.
