A must do...I recently visited Black's Barbecue in Lockhart, Texas, and it was an unforgettable experience! The brisket and sausage were exceptional—tender, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth perfection. The warm atmosphere and the tour showcasing the rich history and memorabilia on the walls added to the charm. It's clear they take pride in their craft. Highly recommend it to any barbecue enthusiast!
To be fair, we got some to go, so when we ate it, it wasn't freshly served. We'll have to go back for the full experience. It's a historic place 92+ years. Pretty cool. Staff was friendly. Meat prices are a little high. Swag prices were reasonable. Will be back.
Super cool and historic, we’re from Texas but just flew in from a trip to Boston and needed to get out Texas feet back on the ground and came over for some BBQ (God Bless Texas) staff was great and tons of seating, wasn’t busy at all for a Saturday around 2-3pm. The green beans and Mac & cheese were delicious the green beans were a 10/10. Ribs were spot on, brisket was cooked perfect but I would have appreciated some more salt. Sausage was delicious. Really recommend this place, they sell frozen meat for really fair prices and it’s just a piece of Texas history
I ate here about 15 years ago, and I was not impressed. I went back today, and it was a completely different experience. The sausage was well seasoned, both regular and jalapeño. The brisket had a good smoke ring, tender, juicy, and flavorful. The ribs were very tender and full of flavor. All the sides were tasty and delicious. It's definitely worth a visit.
Went on A Monday afternoon. 4 ish. No line , we had the entire place to ourselves with A few other people. The sides were delish & the briskit was unbelievably delish and juicy , onions pickles , plenty of bread and an ice cold Shiner Bock the owner even came by to say Hi. Super clean and the staff was very friendly A very pleasant dining experience well worth 56 $ We give them A 10. Plus Lockhart is A lovely town. :)
