Exchequer Restaurant & Pub is a very big part of Chicago's history. The restaurant is very clean and the food is delicious. The waitress was one of the kindest most generous waitress I ever had. I told her I was doing a video on Al Capone and she showed me an escape door Al Capone used to use while here and needing to get away quickly. The restaurant is famous for Chicago deep dish pizza. I highly recommend eating here.
Made a reservation at 9:30 but probably didn’t need to. We were quickly greeted and sat in a little booth. They had said it was much busier earlier, but we came at a great time. Their portions are huge. No question. Best salad I ever had, wish I could eat it all but had to save room for dinner. We had peppers and sausage for app as well as a small Greek salad. Ordered a personal size pizza & steak & frites. Had to take half of it home. The food is so tasty and you could tell was made with quality care. Will definitely be back when in the city again.
I visited Chicago last year and our conference sponsor treated us to dinner here. The pizza was delicious! I decided to eat here again during my visit this year. The pizza was good and the cheese is outstanding! Our server was very nice and patient. She was helpful in helping me decide which pizza style I wanted.
Great place for burgers or pizza! Had the pork chops for lunch and they were delicious! Cool space with alot of neat art/photos all over. Lots of history. Definitely a great stop when in Chicago.
Wanted to try the deep dish pizza. Ordered the “mob” in small (enough for 2 adult men) and had a blast. Mixed it with a cider and thought it was a good combo. Good service and familiar atmosphere.
