Lou Mitchell’s in Chicago is a great breakfast spot. I had the mushroom omelette with raisin toast, and my wife had the Maple Pecan waffle. Both dishes were excellent. The omelette was fluffy and the raisin toast added a sweet touch, while the waffle was crisp with a nice pecan crunch. The diner has a welcoming, classic vibe. The staff was friendly and the place feels like a true part of Chicago's history. We enjoyed our meal and plan to return.
Good breakfast! The places charm is what really makes it special, old school diner vibes. Denver omelette was a home-run & the french toast was good! Good coffee (but only served black w/ cream on the table). Food came out less than 5 minutes after ordering and they really try to move tables it felt like, which I didn’t love (but probably because it draws a crowd and is so busy!) I recommend if you want a good but quick sit-down breakfast.
10/10 the omelette was great. The atmosphere was upbeat, hustle and bustle, busy breakfast style diner. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that they give you their famous doughnut holes before you receive your meal. I had the chicken sausage omelette and added potato’s to it. They give you soft serve once you have finished your meal. I highly recommend checking them out.
Simply OUTSTANDING! This place is buzzing with life. The food is wholesome and tasty, the staff are friendly and welcoming. There might be a bit of a wait as this place is high in demand, but it’s definitely worth it. Best breakfast ever!
Great, hectic breakfast spot. Came in about a hour before close and there was a line inside. They said it'd be a half hour wait but actually sat us in less than 10 minutes. No frills diner, with hefty portions and good service. Definitely a great spot for breakfast /brunch.
