Ladies this place is a great spot to be taken to. 🥂 If you love romantic vibes and interesting food, Rainbow Lodge is going to be your date night winner We enjoy coming and have added this place to our celebration rotation. It was my birthday and the hand signed card was such a cute touch. 🥳 Food is exceptional. You can’t go wrong with we enjoyed the nilgai and the bison 🦬
We finally had an opportunity to come to the lodge and it was fantastic! We came for “linner” there was no one there at that time (3:00 PM), Samantha was our wait person and she was exceptional. Thank You Samantha. To the chef… BRAVO! 🙌 everything was fantastic, the taste of the wild game mixed platter, the smoked duck gumbo, the braised short ribs grilled cheese sandwich was delicious. My wife had the pasta platter and really liked it. The chocolate tart for dessert and coffee hit the spot. We are relatively new to the area and it was our first time there and we would love to come back when we have guests visit us!
Rainbow Lodge in Houston is a culinary gem that truly impresses. The location is tucked back in a wooded corner lot making it feel like an almost forgotten part of the city. I had the wild game mixed grill, complemented by their scrumptious dinner rolls and perfectly creamy mashed potatoes. Every bite was a delicious adventure. I didn’t take enough photos of the interior but the vibes it puts off are awesome. I really liked it and highly recommend this spot for a unique and flavorful dining experience! If it’s nice weather get a table on the back porch the view of the backyard is beautiful.
It was upscale from the valet to table. Greeted warmly by two valet attendants who provided directions and an invitation to look around the property. We didn’t take him up on it immediately but it is a place to behold. The decor was a little discordant with the overall appearance. The bonefish, sailfish and marlin on the walls had me thinking Key West. We ordered two drinks, moscato and old fashioned and the old fashioned was wonderful and the large icecube was emblazoned with an RL on it. They either forgot the maraschino cherry or it’s not how they make it. But I missed it! The moscato was crisp and sweet. We ordered the tasting trio for the appetizer. It had venison, quail, and bison. Each of the three bites was distinctive, the quail was a bit spicy with a robust tomato flavor. The bison was sweet, tender and on a fig reduction, and the venison was on a wine reduction. All 3 were tender and warm. The entrees the Nilgai tenderloin was served rare and I like it rare, but it came to the table cold as did the brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts were firm and on the spicy side exactly as I like it. If you like soggy veggies these won’t be to your liking. The grits were warm and spicy and paired well with the meal. The large scallops were perfectly cooked, tender and moist. It was a perfect bite with the risotto. The croissant bread pudding was much heavier than I expected but the bourbon sauce was good. The afogoto with a shooter of flor de Cana was a perfect dessert drink. A little caffeine, a little ice cream, and a little booze.
I came to dine in for a business trip with my coworkers, and it's my first time to eat at this restaurant. The place is nice and cozy. The lighting provides a good ambiance for dining. The staff are very attentive, and always make sure to provide our dining experience needs. I ordered smoke duck gumbo as my appetizer. The soup consistency is creamy and full of flavors. For my entree, I had pan seared red snappers with lump crabs and an add-on of fried oysters and grilled shrimp. This combination of 3 seafood on this order is just perfect for a seafood lover like me. Talking about dessert, I had bread pudding. It's served on a generous amount and satisfying flavorful of the soft warm bread that just brings me comfort. It was definitely a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it.
