My husband and I decided to check this place out today and I’m glad we tried them. My husband chose the jerk chicken, the chicken JERKED it was moist with the flavor you look for in jerk food. The cabbage and spinach also has great flavor, a bit too salty but sustainable, the saffron rice was dry and over cooked, however, the rice & peas definitely taste like they’re made with coconut milk 😋 delicious. I chose the oxtails and they were disappointing, especially since I ate more off of my husbands plate, they have GREAT flavor the gravy had the right consistency with the flavor but they aren’t tender AT ALL too tough to have been served to anyone. Overall I would definitely return but will definitely stay away from the oxtails, they’re too expensive for them to have been wasted. The customer service was good too me, Especially since there were only 2 ladies working the entire place on a Saturday. The key lime pie isn’t worth the price, I could taste other food on it, plus the portion was like they didn’t want me to have it, per the photo. The rum punch was good and strong, they’re not stingy with the rum. But check them out for yourself
This place came highly recommended however, if the food wasn’t amazing, they definitely would not receive 4 stars. I went here on a Monday afternoon with a party of 5. Upon arrival, I noticed a sign that said “Please wait to be seated” so we stood at the host stand for a few minutes. If it had not been for another customer telling us to just sit anywhere, who knows how long we would have waited. Once seated, we were very passively greeted by one of two employees who were working. Because we only had a short window of time before we needed to make it back to the convention center for our next conference session, we quickly decided what we wanted to order so we’d be ready to go when the server came. The server came, took our order, and the wait began. We waited an hour for our food and when we asked for an update on the order, we were met with attitude as if we were bothering the server for wondering where our food was even though we watched multiple people that sat down after us receive their meals. Finally, we got our meals but had to take them to-go due to the time. Long story short, the food was great and ultimately worth the wait but the customer service could use some work. I hope to return when I’m in Dallas again for a better experience.
Kiana had the WORST customer service starting when she answered the phone by saying “what do you want” ans I was speaking she hung up in my face so I figured I should just drive there to order inside . So I went inside to place my order and the total was $50.07 so I gave $51 no change back ? Okay cool (I don’t say anything) I understand most places don’t give loose change , before leaving I asked can I have a side of shredded cheese for my salad and she claimed they didn’t have any so instead I asked for another ranch. She said it’s going to be $1.00 so I gave her $1.00 she then replied “umm your short 7 cents . I told her You said $1.00 she said . Girl are you going to give it or not ? So I said Well I only have dollars and since you don’t give change back can you just take the 7cents from the change you weren’t able to give me on my first order. She rolled her eyes and said don’t even worry about it at this point. The food was good though . Glad I ordered a side of jerk chicken because whatever chicken was in that “jerk chicken salad” wasn’t the same as the jerk chicken tasted like a teriyaki or sweet chilli . Even looked different. Curry goat 10/10.
My husband and I have dined at this restaurant before, but never the type of experience that I had today. I'd initially called in my order for pickup. After I arrived there, I noticed that there were no patrons inside of the restaurant, so I chose to just sit and eat a portion of my food. When I told the waitress/server Jill that I was there to pick up my meal she stated they were still working on it, but that they were packaging it up for me. I explained to her that I would like to sit and eat there if I could and she said yes. I grabbed a table and waited for my food. She delivered the food to my table tightly packaged to go even though I did explained to her that I would like to eat some of it there. She did not bother to ask me if I wanted water or any beverage to drink. She did not acknowledge me upon entry into the restaurant neither did she ever come back to the table to see if I needed anything. The rice was somewhat dry, but seasoned well, so I asked for any type of sauce to moisten the rice. She charged me $1 for a very small container (see last photo) of what she said was curry sauce. After eating a sm portion my meal for about 15 minutes, I repackaged my items and paid my bill. I did leave her a nice little message on the receipt encouraging her to be more approachable and possibly smile. I was the only patron in the entire restaurant and she found little to no time to check on me. However, she did dedicate some time to her cell phone. See photo. I was hoping that this was an off day for her, so I wished her well and God bless. Not certain if I would dine here again. Thanks!
Excellent service. Double rum punch had a great flavor, portion size is deceptive, not very strong at all. Got the oxtails w cabbage, rice and peas, plantains. Would only come back for drinks and night vibe.
